Welcome to Creative Homeschool.
I have been a home school parent of two boys for 8 years. Currently in 2011 we are doing 6th and 8th grade work. I do get asked from time to time to share some of the online resources
I have discovered as well as some of my own simple ideas
about how to make home schooling fun and creative.
Hope you will find this blog helpful.

The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race reality show takes teams of people to places around the globe. I was thinking it would be a great framework for our up coming year of home school. I think we will go back and start with season one since we can watch it on youtube. The boys will have research  the places in the show and find out about the culture, history, music, food, art, animals and plants. Plus what God is doing in that area through various missions organizations.  I found some great resources at https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/docs/flagsoftheworld.html
Season 1 starts in New York Central Park and goes to Johannesburg South Africa and then on to Zambia.

The boys seem favorable to the idea. We won't start till September but I thought I would post my Theme for the year.

I know this post is a couple years old but I am considering this idea as educational experience for my four children this summer. How did it go for you? Any tips?
